Why We Love Paramount
We love Paramount and its surrounding communities for many different reasons. Each city gives a unique perspective on how Southern California came to be and is diverse in its populations, landscapes, history, and attractions. Our offices are located near Paramount and serve its community as well as surrounding areas.
Paramount shares a border with the city of Lakewood, where the ContinuEM urgent care office is located. It was first settled by Mexicans from Spain in the late 1700s and still holds true to its Mexican roots today.
One of the major historical landmarks of Paramount is the townhay tree – ask any local and they’ll point you in its direction. Historically, this tree was used by hay traders to discuss business while in the hay tree shade as the city was once known for its grow and sale of hay.
Originally settled by Mexicans from the state of Sinaola, Paramount had been dubbed the “second Sinaola” and is known for its native Sinaola style of food which includes many seafood dishes and ceviche.
Ever been to a hockey game or watched ice skating? Those ridealong machines used to clean ice are called “Zambonis” because they were invented by the Zamboni Company (owned by Frank J. Zamboni) in 1950s Paramount.
