Testing Process

At ContinuEM, we offer two different types of testing – PCR rapid tests and nasal swab tests. We recommend the nasal swab tests and perform them in our offices. If someone needs a rapid test for more urgent test results, the PCR tests are the best option. No blood drawing is required to test for the COVID-19 virus.

If you’re interested in being tested for the COVID-19 antibodies, there will need to be blood drawn for testing. Not to worry, it’s not as much blood as other testing and requires one test tube or less. Antibody testing shows whether you’ve been positive for COVID-19 in recent weeks and usually means you have a window of time where you will not test positive again.

We work with both CDC guidelines and FDA-approved testing to ensure we have the most accurate and safe testing procedures. When coming in for testing, we ask that you wear a mask and come by yourself if able so as to not expose more people to a possible positive test result.

Lab Results Process

Our lab result process is quick but varies between the different types of testing. If you’ve been administered a rapid PCR test, you will have your results within minutes. If you’ve opted for the nasal swab test, you can expect your test results within 1-2 days.

During high infection rate times, lab results may be delayed as we are serving a large community, but we will do everything in our power for you to know whether you are positive or negative for the COVID-19 virus.

If you do test positive, we ask that you follow the CDC guidelines for quarantine and isolation so as to not spread the virus any further. As symptoms subside you can expect a negative result to follow shortly thereafter.

COVID-19 Treatments & Infusions

ContinuEM has made COVID-19 testing and treatments a priority throughout the duration of the pandemic, coexisting along our everyday urgent care services. We track medical advancements and trends for testing and treating the virus to offer the best of what’s available to our patients.

FDA-Approved Therapy Treatments

The FDA continues to approve new and updated COVID-19 therapy treatments and we work diligently to offer these to our ContinuEM patients as they become available.

As the virus changes and mutates, so must the treatments for it. You can count on us to always be offering the best and latest therapies for COVID-19 in order to help manage the virus and get our patients back to feeling healthy. While there may not be a way to completely stop the virus, we can help manage symptoms and ensure immunocompromised patients that there are other options than to simply endure.
